INDIANAPOLIS — A suspect led police on a pursuit after a person was shot on Indianapolis' southeast side Wednesday afternoon.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers first responded to the 2000 block of Shelby Street for a report of a person shot.
During the course of their investigation, officers began to pursue a vehicle with a possible suspect in that shooting. The suspet led police on a short pursuit before he was taken into custody in the area of Market Street and East Street.
The victim's condition is not known at this time. The suspect's identity has not been released and police have not said whether they believe he fired hte shot.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
