DELPHI, Ind. -- On the three-month anniversary of the day Liberty German and Abigail Williams first went missing, hundreds of people gathered to celebrate their lives and to help raise funds for a softball complex that will be built in the girls’ memory.
The event at the Delphi High School football stadium drew a crowd of over 1,000 people, many wearing their tye-dye “Libby & Abby” t-shirts.
The crowd enjoyed food, raffles, crafts and music – all things the girls loved – as they showered the families with support and raised funds to build a dream softball complex in their memory.
“It’s just so heartwarming to have this happen,” said Abby’s mother, Anna Williams. “It’s just unbelievable the amount of dedication and time and just the thought that goes into this.”

Jonilynne Hall and her sisters also presented the families of Libby and Abby with “Flags for the Fallen” flags that were carried across the finish line of the 500 Festival Mini Marathon in the girls’ memory.
“You know, when tragedy happens in a small community like this everyone wants to come together and help out in some way, shape or form,” said Hall.
All proceeds from Saturday’s celebration of life will go towards building a memorial softball complex in memory of Libby and Abby.
As the community continues to work towards peace and support for the families of the two girls, investigators continue their effort to find their killer.
Libby and Abby went missing while hiking along near the Monon High Bridge on February 13. Their bodies were found in a wooded area less than a mile away the next day.
Police are still searching for the man in a photo and audio clip taken from Libby’s cell phone on the day that she died.
