INDIANAPOLIS -- Governor Mike Pence sent a letter to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs on Friday asking the VA to fully reinstate the GI Bill benefits for any veteran who used their benefits at ITT Technical Institute and is now in limbo.
Some 300 military members were impacted whenITT Tech closed permanently on September 6 after the U.S. Department of Education banned the Indiana-based school from receiving federal loans.

The governor is also asking state agencies like the Department of Workforce Development to focus on helping the other 700 students who are not in the armed forces, as well as staff, who lost their jobs.
The DWD also activated their Rapid Response Teams to help ITT Tech employees in the state. They can connect them with local employment opportunities as well as providing resume assistance, interview workshops and skills assessments.
