INDIANAPOLIS -- On Monday -- National PTSD Awareness Day -- a group called the Romans Warrior Foundation hit the streets to raise awareness about post traumatic stress disorder.

"Romans Warrior" members walked from Linton, Indiana into downtown Indianapolis.

The walk started Thursday and wrapped up Monday morning.

The group is trying to raise awareness and money for veterans and first responders who suffer from PTSD. It is also helping families who have dealt with veteran suicide.

The group, started by veteran Brian Romans, is looking for sponsors.

"The goal is to offer three- to four-day therapeutic weekend retreats at no cost to our veterans, our gold star families and our first responders -- all of whom we have walking with us."

Romans said the foundation is hoping these funds can help provide healing for those suffering from PTSD.
