SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. -- High winds caused damage to homes and businesses in Fountaintown Sunday evening, including a destroyed barn crashing into a house.
Brian Clark and his wife have lived along North 200 W in Fountaintown for 15 years.
They were home relaxing when the storm hit Sunday night.
“The wind got real bad, the house started shaking, and all of a sudden a two by four comes flying through the window, and the beams started flying through the house,” said Clark. “It was just pretty scary.”
The Clark’s home is now covered in holes, plus they’re dealing with a leaking roof and no power.
However, they think they can live in the home while it is being repaired.
An insurance adjuster is expected to stop by Tuesday to look at the damage.
“I have no idea how much it’s going to be, plus, we’ve got the cleanup, it’s going to be a lot,” said Clark. “It punched a hole in my brick wall in a few different places. I mean, it was a lot of force.”
RTV6 meteorologists said the area was under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning Sunday evening, which can bring winds of more than 60 mph.
