INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Animal Care Services is opening on a rare Wednesday the day before Thanksgiving and waiving all adoption fees to try to find homes for all the animals in their care before the holidays.
IACS is normally closed on Wednesdays, but the shelter says they are opening from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. to offer the free adoptions before the holiday.
Indianapolis Animal Care Services Normal Hours of Operation:
- Monday: 10am-8pm
- Tuesday: 10am-6pm
- Wednesday: CLOSED
- Thursday: 10am-7pm
- Friday: 10am-6pm
- Saturday:10am-6pm
- Sunday: 10am-6pm
- The shelter is closed on all City holidays.

If you don’t want to adopt, the shelter is also looking for help in the form of fosters and volunteers to help walk dogs, feed animals and help clean the shelter.
