INDIANAPOLIS – Ohio State may have won the Big Ten Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday, and J.K. Dobbins was named MVP of the game, but we all know “Turf Guy” was the real MVP.

The Big Ten Championship was delayed for 10 minutes during the fourth quarter after the field started falling apart in the end zone.

That’s when “Turf Guy” came to the rescue.

Erik Harlow, armed with a bucket full of rubber pellets rushed onto the field and was able to save the day.

Harlow was dubbed "Turf Guy" by fans and social media and has been celebrated more than Ohio State since the big game.

Harlow is a Purdue graduate with a degree in Turfgrass Science (yes, that’s a thing!).

Social media blew up with respect and love for the man who saved the day.

If you missed his skill on the field – don’t worry – video is available online from multiple angles, including the time-lapse below put together by the Big Ten Network.
