IPS is accepting applications for superintendent position

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Public Schools posted the job description for its open superintendent position and will accept applications until May 17.

Allesia Johnson has served as interim superintendent since December when Lewis Ferebee left to lead Washington, D.C.'s school system after five years with IPS.

According to the job description, IPS is looking for someone with experience as a superintendent in a large, urban school district. IPS is Indiana's largest school district with more than 30,000 students.
