INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis jurors have found a man accused in the murder of an 18-year-old pregnant woman not guilty.
It was the second trial for 28-year-old Jonathan McGee who faced a murder charge in the May 2017 shooting death of Brittany McNew.
McGee’s first trial, earlier this year, ended in a mistrial.
Investigators said McGee fired a shot into a house on West Michigan Street during a drug-related dispute with other men.
McNew was inside the house and was hit by a bullet.
She died a short time later.
A Marion County judge ordered McGee's release following the not guilty verdict
