LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, Ind. -- Students and staff at two Lawrence Township schools are collecting money and supplies for victims of Hurricane Harvey.
Indian Creek Elementary is hosting a bake sale to raise money to help Texas recover from the hurricane.
The Lawrence Township School Foundation says the leaders of aftercare at the school have scheduled the event for Friday, September 15 from 2:35 p.m. to 6 p.m.
100 percent of the proceeds will go to support those that have lost everything to Harvey.
At Sunnyside Elementary, they are working to collect money and relief supplies as well through “Operation: Help 4 Houston.”
Their goal is to fill at least one truck with donations and deliver them to hurricane victims.
Community members are invited to bring supplies to 6345 Sunnyside Drive on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. until they have reached capacity.
They are looking for bottled water, diapers, baby wipes, school supplies, toiletries and non-perishable food items.
