INDIANAPOLIS -- Three people were injured - one critically - in a crash that damaged a business on Indianapolis' east side early Sunday morning. 

It happened just before 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Rural Street and Michigan Street. Witnesses told police that one a pickup truck ran a red light, striking an Enterprise Rental and then skidding two blocks before hitting a parked car. 

The rental truck then jumped the curb and ran into a nearby building causing serious damage. 

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers on the scene say it took almost 30 minutes to extricate the driver from the pickup truck. He was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in extremely critical condition. His identity has not been released. 

Two other people were also taken to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time. 

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
