Two NCAA punters killed in Wisconsin car crash

TOWN OF MERTON -- A crash has led to the death of a current and former NCAA Division I college football player and injuries to another current punter on a college team.

The wreck happened at approximately 11:45 p.m. in Merton, Wisconsin.

Initial investigation shows that the vehicle was going west on Beaver Lake Road, lost control on the wet pavement, left the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver, Michael R. Sadler, 24, of Grand Rapids, Michigan was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Lincoln Journal-Star, Sadler was a former Michigan State punter.

A passenger, Samuel N. Foltz, 22, of Grand Island, Nebraska was also pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Lincoln Journal-Star, Foltz was currently the senior punter for the Nebraska football team.

Another passenger, Colby J. Delahoussaye, 21, of New Iberia, Louisiana was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown at this time. According to the Lincoln Journal-Star,  Delahoussaye is currently a senior punter at LSU.

Officials said speed appears to be a factor in the crash. Waukesha Sheriff's deputies continue to investigate the crash.
