PD: Multiple people injured in shooting at 25th St. and Van Buren

Phoenix police say an 18-year-old woman is dead following a shooting outside a motel near 25th Street and Van Buren in Phoenix.

Police say the shooting occurred about 11:30 a.m. Sunday at a motel located in the area.

Two men engaged in a verbal altercation, according to police, and when the fight intensified, the two men pulled out weapons and began shooting.

Six people were shot. An unidentified 18-year-old woman died at the scene.

Five other people were transported to an area hospital.

Three of those people are critically injured, according to police.

The age of the shooting victims ranges from 18 to 40-years-old.

Three men and three women were shot, according to Phoenix police.

Police also believe there may be an outstanding suspect from the shooting. A description of the suspect was not immediately available.

They are searching the area for the suspect.
