Now that the holidays are over, you might find yourself feeling as though there’s not much to look forward to lately. Perhaps it’s time to plan a little getaway. If you travel to your destination via Amtrak and bring a friend or loved one, you might nab an excellent deal.

That’s because Amtrak is offering a buy one ticket, get one free sale right now. Ride a train to major cities in the U.S. at a great discount!

How To Get In On The Amtrak BOGO Deal

Of course, this deal is only for a limited time. If you book your tickets any time between now and January 12, 2020, and if you travel any time between February 1 and June 12, 2020, you can purchase one fare and get the second one free.

This BOGO deal is good on two types of fares:

  • Coach seating fares, in which you can sit side-by-side in reclining seats with ample legroom and watch the world go by through your great, big window.
  • Sleeper fares, where you can ride together in your own private room.

With either type of fare, you are free to move about the train, stopping at the Dining Car when you are hungry or visiting with other passengers.

The BOGO deal applies to all long-distance trains except the Auto Train in all services except business class, and there are some blackout dates and other restrictions. The fares are non-refundable and only apply to select routes.

Find out all the details on the Amtrak website.

Other Current Deals On Amtrak Tickets

If you can’t purchase tickets or travel within this time range, there are some other Amtrak travel deals available. For instance, veterans and students can save between 10 – 25% in specified states; seniors can get 10%-50% off fares (depending on travel destination), and kids’ tickets are available for as much as 50% off.

You could also save 20% just by booking early. When you book your travel at least 7 to 14 days in advance, you will save 20% on a regular adult fare for many routes across the country.

Train travel might be just the thing for the lingering winter blues!
