Andrew Smith

WRTV

Sr. Digital Content Producer

Andrew Smith joined WRTV as a digital content producer in July 2018.

Andrew is a graduate of Ball State University studying news journalism, telecommunications, criminal justice and criminology. He was involved with several student media organizations at Ball State including The Daily News and Waking up with Cardinal Weather.

While at The Daily News, he was assigned to the crime and courts beat, covering breaking news in Muncie. He also helped produce and report for Waking up with Cardinal Weather, the university’s only morning show.

Before moving to Indiana for school, Andrew lived near Cleveland, Ohio with his parents, brother and dog, Bo.

Andrew has a passion for telling stories on a variety of topics including crime, government, local businesses and community events. He often falls asleep listening to the police scanner or can be found connecting with people in the community.

When he’s not working, Andrew can be found exploring Indiana, dining at the newest restaurant in town, relaxing by the pool, or riding his bike.

Andrew is so excited to work in Indianapolis and explore new areas in Central Indiana. If you have any suggestions on restaurants, places, things for him to check out or any story ideas, let him know.
