INDIANAPOLIS — Whether you're going to Bankers Life Fieldhouse for a Pacers game, Fever game, or a concert, it's only right you know the best-suited establishment for you before heading downtown.

Downtown Indianapolis has plenty of places to choose from, so we put together a list of the best bars and restaurants to hang out at before and after an event at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Selected with the locality, menu selection, and coolness in mind, here's where you should make a stop:

Pivot Bar
130 South Pennsylvania St.

Location, location, location — Pivot Bar & Balcony is hoisted directly across the street from BLF, making it the prime destination for event-goers to pre-game.

If you're looking for a complete meal, this may not be the place, as they only offer small bites. But, if you're looking for a drink to match your vibe, Pivot Bar has craft cocktail and cold brews ready to get your night started.

Sip and sit next to an outdoor fireplace while enjoying the views of Pennsylvania Street.

Harry and Izzy's
153 Illinois Street

Need dinner plans? This upscale-American grill owned by Huse Culinary, the parent company of St. Elmo Steak House, has a diverse array of options on their menu. From steaks and seafood to pasta and salads, they can suit anyone's taste buds.

Although reservations are highly recommended, the always-swinging revolving door at itss Illinois Street entrance allows space for walk-ins at a high volume.

Also, who wouldn't like a picture next to the famous round bar or the "Peyton Manning Booth" holding an Elmo Cola?

The Tap
306 North Delaware St.

For the craft beer lovers looking to grab a cold one before and after a game — The Tap is your destination. Although it is at the south end of Mass Ave, it's still only about a 10-minute walk to Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Rest assured The Tap will be open before and after the event at Bankers Life Fieldhouse with food, plenty of TVs showing sports, and a variety of light to dark beers.

This brewery boasts being one of Indiana's largest selections of small-batch craft beer, and they live up to the hype.

Platt 99
333 Delaware St.

If you're dressing pretty, drink pretty.

This boutique hotel bar is an artisanal cocktail connoisseur's place to be after dinner, before the show or for a nightcap.

Anywhere you choose to sit or stand in this chic, mood-setting lounge will please the palate and your evening. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow you the second-floor views of the sunset, Lucas Oil Stadium, and is just a stone's throw away from BLF.

Brothers
255 South Meridian St.

Ready to hit the dance floor after the show? Walk on over to Brothers Bar & Grill for long island pitchers, multiple genres of music, and that Midwestern flare.

Drink late, eat late, and dance late at this casual sports-bar.

Coaches Tavern
28 South Pennsylvania St.

Grub on pub food while bopping to funk and hip-hop spins at this local and industry favorite.

Most nights, enjoy a live DJ who will take almost any of your requests — except on "Take That Tuesdays." When the DJ plays what they want and how they want, and you have no say in the matter.

Burger Study
28 West Georgia St.

Another Huse Culinary establishment, yes, but let's be honest, they really own the southwest corner of Georgia Street, ( about one block away from BLF) as they have three (technically four) separate establishments that serve a variety of audiences.

This burger-joint seats less than Harry & Izzy's but has a more focused menu with chef-crafted burgers, kid-friendly scenes, and the opportunity to pop in and pop out when in a time crunch.
