Some dry time on Wednesday was a welcome change. Much of central and southern Indiana have already picked up 1" or more of rainfall this week.
Another round of soaking rain settles in Wednesday night and lasts through much of Thursday. Additional rainfall of half an inch to around 2" is possible. That's impressive, considering we average a little more than 2" of rain for the entire month.
Even after the rain comes to an end, flooding concerns will continue on area creeks and rivers. The graph below shows the White River near Nora rising to minor flood stage, with a crest occurring late Friday into Saturday.
Flooding concerns are even higher as you travel south along the White River and parts of the Big Blue River. Both of these regions could experience moderate flooding through the weekend.
Not only is it a good idea to stay off of high and fast moving waterways, but don't drive through standing water either. It only takes a small amount to cause big problems.
