Your Kids Will Love To Build A Free Ice Cream Truck at Lowe’s on July 13

I scream! You scream! We all scream for ice cream truck-building! Lowe’s will be offering a free class for kids on July 13, teaching them how to put together their very own miniature ice cream truck. Once children have assembled the truck using paperboard cutouts, they can get creative and decorate it with stickers.

The event is free and will be going on from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at participating Lowe’s locations. The building sessions typically take 15 to 30 minutes, and you must be checked in by 11 a.m. if you want to participate.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, so this is an event that could be fun for the whole family or, at the very least, provide some quality mommy- or daddy-and-me time.

If you’re interested in attending, you can register for the class in advance by visiting the Lowe’s website and entering your zip code to find a participating location near you.

Lowe's

According to Hip2Save, Lowe’s is currently only offering this class in the Tennessee and North Carolina areas. Don’t Waste Your Money tested a few other zip codes and found no events, but be sure to check in to see if there are any in your area! (Also be on the lookout for more events from Lowe’s to head to a location near you, because this ice cream truck-building event isn’t the only free activity on the way.)

There’s also an upcomingBuild-A-Saurus event taking place on Aug. 10 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.  At this free event, kids will get to build their very own wooden dinosaur. Registration for this event opens on July 14 — so be sure to see if this event is happening in your area before then.

Lowe's

If these free activities aren’t happening at your local Lowe’s just yet — fret not! There are similar opportunities you can take advantage of with your kids.

For example, Home Depot also offers free events for families. There’s an event coming up on July 6 at some locations where kids will get to build a miniature tow truck, which they can customize with paint and stickers. Those who participate will also get a free certificate of achievement, an apron to keep, and a commemorative pin (while supplies last).

Home Depot

Events like these will give the kids a chance to learn to build something and expand their creativity, which sounds like a great way to spend the weekend.

So, be sure to check out what’s happening at Lowe’s and Home Depot locations in your area to take advantage of the fun!
