INDIANAPOLIS – The circle city is known for much more than racing and the largest Christmas tree in the world. Indy was recently named one of the Hottest Food Cities of 2016 by Zagat.
Ranked No. 15 on a list of 26 cities from across the country, Indianapolis was said to have a food scene that has evolved, “with serious, elevated precision,” according to Zagat.
The list by Zagat’s editors features cities both big and small that had the biggest dining growth spurts this year.
Indy is home to several nationally-recognized restaurants like Milktooth and Bluebeard along with popular newcomers like Pioneer in Fountain Square and Open Society Public House in SoBro.
Milktooth was named one of the best restaurants in the world by Conde Nast magazine in September and this isn’t the only bragging right Indy has earned.

It can also boast about its four-diamond restaurant, Vida, in the Lockerbie community that serves up a variety of global flavors.
Zagat’s list also mentions key players like Le Méridien's Spoke and Steele, B spot Burgers and Marrow.
