INDIANAPOLIS – You may have to find a new spot to grab chicken and waffles the next few days as Maxine’s Chicken & Waffles temporarily closed Wednesday due to a fire.

A Tweet sent by restaurant officials said the fire began Tuesday evening and the restaurant would be closed the following day.

Indianapolis firefighters said they made entry into the restaurant a little after 10 p.m. where they found a small grease fire in the kitchen.
