INDIANAPOLIS – You may have to find a new spot to grab chicken and waffles the next few days as Maxine’s Chicken & Waffles temporarily closed Wednesday due to a fire.
A Tweet sent by restaurant officials said the fire began Tuesday evening and the restaurant would be closed the following day.
Last night there was a fire @MaxinesCW so we will be closed today, Wednesday. We will let you know as soon as we are re-opened.

Maxine's Chicken & Waffles serves homestyle comfort food and is located in downtown Indianapolis.
Indianapolis firefighters said they made entry into the restaurant a little after 10 p.m. where they found a small grease fire in the kitchen.
The fire was put out quickly and no one was inside, said IFD officials.
There is no information on when the restaurant will reopen, .
