89K pounds of frozen patties recalled

Posted

A Sauk Rapids, Minn., meat company is recalling about 89,500 pounds of beef patties after it was found they could have a foreign object in them.

The patties could have "extraneous wood materials" in them, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service said.

The specific product is the 2-pound boxes of "Sam's Choice Black Angus Beef Patties with 19% Vidalia Onion."

See above the story for a photo of the box.

The affected product's "Use by" dates are 05/17/2016, 05/29/2016 and 06/06/2016.

There have been no confirmed reports of bad reactions to eating the patties, but they should still be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Anybody with questions can contact the company's customer service manager at 618-857-4011.
