INDIANAPOLIS — Doctors continue to encourage everyone to get their flu shots early this season to help prevent a possible outbreak in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett and Dr. Virginia Caine, director of the Marion County Public Health Department, kicked off the "Sleeve Up Indy" campaign.

Caine said the flu vaccine is more important this year than ever before.

"We are entering our flu season, so we're urging all Indianapolis residents to 'sleeve up' and get their flu shot," she said.

The effort is in partnership with the Eskenazi Health Window of Health program and the Consulate of Mexico in Indianapolis.
