INDIANAPOLIS -- Does the phrase “E.T. phone home” ring a bell? What about “E.T. trick-or-treat?”

That could have been something you heard if you were in Indy back in 1982. E.T. masks were just one of a few popular Halloween costumes that year.

Channel 6 Reporter Tracey Horth looked at all of the popular Halloween costumes of 1982.

If masks weren’t your thing then, perhaps haunted houses were. Another popular Halloween attraction in 1982 was the haunted house at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. It marked the 19th year for the haunted house. The theme in 1982 was “Crossbones of America.”

The haunted house even featured an exhibit with the city’s mayor.

Channel 6 Reporter Barbara Boyd went inside to show us the spooks and scares in this RTV6 throwback.

Watch both in the video player above.
