SAN FRANCISCO, CAL — The world's leader in restaurant reservations is now taking part in the hotel industry.
OpenTable announced Thursday, January 17, that OpenTable dining points can now be used to save anywhere from $20 to $200 at over 400,000 hotels.
From boutique to international hotels, diners can redeem their points on any participating KAYAK hotel.
According to the Chief Technology Officer at OpenTable, Joseph Essas, this is the "first of several" new features coming for OpenTable users.
OpenTable dining points are acquired by making and honoring reservations.
To redeem dining points, diners can visit their OpenTable profile page, on desktop devices only, and check how many points they have. If diners have 2,000 points, or over, they can visit opentable.kayak.com, and redeem their points in hotel stays.
Diners can still redeem their OpenTable points toward meals, as well.
