INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis International Airport is gearing up for a busy Memorial Day and Indy 500 travel weekend.

They say you can do yourself a favor by paying close attention to what you pack.

The Transportation Security Administration showed off the many knives, weapons, and other items confiscated at security (check out images above) that people often forget are in their carry-on bags.

They say those discoveries slow down the whole process for everyone.

"More prohibited items is a contributing factor to wait times growing," Mark Howell, TSA Regional spokesperson, said. "We've done some studies at larger airports and learned that lines can grow up to four times longer with prohibited items in bags when passengers don't follow the rules."

Some more reminders: If you have liquids, gels or aerosols, they must be 3.4 ounces or less. Otherwise, pack them in your checked bag.

Make sure to take electronics larger than a cell phone out of your bags so they can be scanned separately.
