RTV6 is celebrating 70 Years Together! May 30th marks the 70th anniversary of Channel 6, originally WFBM, going on the air in 1949 as the first TV station in the state of Indiana. Every day during the month of May, we'll be reaching into the archives and talking with current and former staff members to share some of their memories and noteworthy moments with you. RTV6 kicks off this trip down memory lane with Barbara Lewis, anchor and reporter from 1987 to 1998.

After leaving Channel 6, Barbara co-founded the public radio program “Sound Medicine” and joined Gerry Dick’s program “Inside Indiana Business."

Lewis is the narrator of many videos focusing on health and science. She’s also the “on hold” voice on health systems phones, so she apologizes if you’ve been on hold for a long time.
