One dead, two injured after shooting on city's northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS -- One person was killed and two injured after a shooting Sunday night in the 2500 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Street on the city's northwest side.

Police arrived on the scene around 10:30 p.m. to find a large crowd breaking up.

As officers began their investigation they discovered at least two people had been shot. Both victims were taken to Eskenazi Hospital, where one died.  He's been identified as Christopher Shannon Joseph, 26. The other victim is stable.

A third shooting victim who drove to Methodist Hospital is also stable.

Police are still investigating and ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262 - TIPS.
