INDIANAPOLIS -- A woman died inside the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in downtown Indianapolis Saturday night.
Police and paramedics were called to Monument Circle around 5:30 pm for a report of a person down.
A witness told investigators that a woman fell down about eight steps inside the monument to a landing below.
Jennifer Civitarese, 41, of Kokomo was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say foul play isn't suspected.
An autopsy will be performed by the Marion County Coroner's Office.
The Soldiers and Sailors Monument was closed for evening.
