INDIANAPOLIS -- It's the season for giving, but across the county, December and January top the charts for reported thefts.
According to insurer State Farm, Indiana comes in at No. 8 for the most reported thefts in the month of December. And those thefts aren't necessarily of packages off porches.
"Similar to your car, something that someone can see from the window is a possible target," said Elizabeth Marshall, a State Farm agent in Broad Ripple. "Don't make yourself an easy target. You don't want someone to peak in and see all those presents under the tree and know that it is an easy target."
