Posted

BROWNSBURG, Ind. -- A Brownsburg taxidermist accused of ripping off his customers must return property to customers, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

Kevin McGrotty was arrested last month following a Call 6 Investigation into his business practices, and is now charged with theft and corrupt business practices.

The court has ordered McGrotty to return customer orders, many of which have been in his possession for years without being finished.

If you are a customer of Brownsburg Taxidermy and you want to get your property back, you must bring your receipts, canceled checks or other proof of ownership, as well as identification to Brownsburg Taxidermy on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 25; 2 p.m. - 9p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 29; 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, Nov. 2; 2 p.m. - 9 p.m.

The store is located at 9630 N. State Road 267 in Brownsburg.

Indiana conservation officers will help facilitate the exchange.

McGrotty’s trial is scheduled for November 28 in Hendricks County.

The DNR has pulled his taxidermy license, so he will be unable to complete his customers’ orders.

Back in April, Call 6 Investigates questioned McGrotty about why customers’ unfinished orders and McGrotty said he’s been dealing with health and personal problems.
