INDIANAPOLIS -- New numbers released this week by the National Institute on Drug Abuse show student alcohol use is at its lowest level in 15 years.
The organization says it's found a significant decrease in alcohol use among 8th, 10th and 12th graders.
In 2015, 38 percent of 12th grade students said they have been drunk in the past year, compared to 41 percent in 2014 and 52 percent in 2001.
In the survey, the number of students who said they had five or more drinks in a row in the last two weeks also significantly declined.
The results also showed a decline in binge drinking for 10th and 12th graders.
