INDIANAPOLIS -- Sue Sanders was relieved Wednesday to have the asphalt from her old driveway removed from her yard where it had been sitting for five weeks.

Sanders paid Ram Paving more than $5,600 for a new driveway back in September.

The old asphalt was not hauled away and it was too heavy for her to move.

After he finished the job, Ram Paving owner EJ Holmes left a note saying his dump truck broke down and he would get the asphalt ASAP.

Sanders got so frustrated that she put a countdown on the pile of rubble.

"Four weeks was the first time I put out a sign. Last week I changed it to five," said Sanders. "I don't want any money back. Get this out of my yard."

Holmes said the water pump to his truck had broken which delayed the asphalt removal but he promised to pickup the old driveway by Friday at 6 p.m.

Instead, he sent out a crew two days early and on Wednesday the problem was gone.

Call 6 Investigates says to make sure you don't pay in full until the job is done, but you can make payments as the work progresses.
