INDIANAPOLIS -- After the GOP's big political party in Cleveland, Hoosiers are now asking whether Indianapolis could play host to the Republican National Convention.
The city attempted to get the convention 16 years ago, but failed. Since then, Indy has hosted a Super Bowl and the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 – proving it can do the job.
The next available slot to host the convention is 2020. Bidding will begin in 2018, which means the behind-the-scenes people will have to start talking soon about raising corporate dollars to support the event.
