DELPHI, Ind. – Seven months after the murders of two Delphi teens, their families were shocked to find several people aren’t aware of the case, despite constant media attention.
To help spread the word about the suspect on the loose, the families of Abby Williams and Libby German, along with neighbors, have brainstormed ideas – outside of social media – to help police find the killer.
Becky, the grandmother of German, said she was stunned to find those living less than 30 miles from their community had no idea about the case.
“My niece works in an office and some people don't know about it,” said Becky. “That's in Lafayette. Just down the road – 18 miles.”
Williams and German were hiking near the Monon High Bridge on Feb. 13 when they first went missing. After hours of searching, their bodies were discovered in a nearby wooded area the next morning.

German’s grandparents created a Facebook page where the community could develop other ways – not yet attempted - to get the suspect’s photo in the eye of the public.
“We realized that we need to do something different today. You can't do the same thing and expect a different result,” said Mike Patty, German’s grandfather.
Some people on the Facebook page suggested truck drivers place decals on their semis, while another person asked if someone had contacted ABC 20/20 for national coverage.
“People are seeing if we can put them on gas pumps throughout because he has to get gas - the little TVs,” said Becky. “It's time--our goals that this guy isn't able to walk in a town--none that his face isn't starring at him."
The family also decided to continue mailing decals and other materials about the case across the country to Ohio, Wyoming and Massachusetts.
Delphi Murders:4 months later, investigators say they're 'close' to finding Libby & Abby's killer
"I want someone to call in and say I know this guy. I know where he is," said Patty. "I can give you an address. I know his name. Let's get this taken care. It's been 7 months and there's a murderer walking our streets."
Other ideas included placing advertisements before the start of movies and hanging notices at the entrances of parks.
