INDIANAPOLIS -- A man was arrested when he ran onto the governor's residence property while fleeing police Monday evening.
Sources said the man was being chased by IMPD officers when he ran onto the property at 46th and Meridian streets – at which point he was "very quickly" taken into custody by Secret Service agents and Indiana State Police Troopers.
Gov. Mike Pence has been under additional protection from the Secret Service since he was selected as Donald Trump's running mate.
Pence wasn't at the governor's residence at the time, having spent the day campaigning in Canfield, Ohio.
It wasn't immediately clear why the man was running from police in the first place.
RTV6 left messages with the Secret Service and Indiana State Police Monday night, but had yet to hear back.
