Purposeful Design makes 94 new tables for Pendleton school

Posted

PENDLETON, Ind. -- When students return to Pendleton Heights High School next week, they'll see a transformed cafeteria.

It will have more outlets for electronic devices and new tables with a "purposeful design," thanks to a special group of men.

Purposeful Design workers are behind the 94 new tables at the school. The non-profit group is made up of men who've hit rock bottom and, in some cases, struggled with addiction.

Besides making furniture for schools, the group will also soon be working with Eli Lilly and Company. Purposeful Design says it's seen an increase in monthly sales from $4,000 in 2014 to more than $37,000 this year.
