Restaurant trip leads to stolen signature

Posted

A trip to enjoy a nice meal led to a stolen signature for one Central Indiana woman.

Trish Napier wrote to Call 6 Investigator Rafael Sanchez after, she says, someone forged her signature on a receipt at the Bucca di Beppo's restaurant in Greenwood.

Napier says she tipped 20 percent of the bill – which amounted to a $7.09 gratuity. When she checked her bank account days later, though, the numbers were off.

Napier called the restaurant, which made her a copy of the receipt. It showed a tip of $10.09.

The restaurant offered to refund the $3, and then agreed to provide a full refund of the tip and meal, which totaled around $50.
