WAYNE TOWNSHIP, Ind. -- A Wayne Township school is looking to break its own record for parent participation in parent-teacher conferences.

Lynhurst 7th and 8th-grade center is aiming for the 10th straight year of parent participation in the meetings.

“That is really unheard of in an urban school setting,” said MSD of Wayne Township spokesperson Mary Lang.

The principal, Dan Wilson, and his staff do whatever it takes to meet with parents, even going to the parents’ homes, talking via Skype, and picking up parents with a minibus.

The conferences started Wednesday and end Thursday night.

“We’re hoping for year number 10 with 100 percent participation,” said Lang.
