CASS COUNTY — Two teens are dead and six other people are injured after a three-vehicle crash involving a semi in Cass County Friday evening.
Cass County Sheriff Randy Pryor says just before 6 p.m., a semi, driven by Jerry Williams, 58, of LaCrosse, was behind a passenger car, driven by Mandy Conley, of Medaryville, on US 35 when the passenger car slowed for an animal crossing the road. The semi rear-ended the car and then went into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle head-on.
The driver of the third vehicle, driven by Briana Ademi, 17, of Monticello, swerved to miss the semi and went off the road, and into a field.
Anahi Garcia, 17, and Faith Dold, 17, both of Monticello, were thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.
Six other people were injured in the crash. Their injuries vary and conditions are not known at this time.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.
