UPDATE: According to a statement from Indianapolis Power & Light, power was restored around 5 p.m. The outage impacted approximately 14,000 customers in total. The cause remains under investigation.
INDIANAPOLIS — Power is out to over 500 IPL customers on the Indianapolis west side and Speedway.
In addition to homes and businesses, the IPL outage has shut down traffic lights at some key intersections, including West 10th Street and I-465.
Power went out before 1:30 p.m..
IPL says its hopes to have repairs made by 6 p.m.
