INDIANAPOLIS — The company that owns Kotex has issued a voluntary recall of its U by Kotex Sleek tampons because of a quality-related defect that could lead to the tampons unraveling and pieces being left behind in the body.
Kimberly-Clark Corp. says they have received reports of the tampons unraveling or coming apart when they're removed and some users have had to seek medical attention to remove the tampon from their body. They have also received reports of a small number of infections, irritations, injuries and other symptoms from the tampon's defectiveness.
The recall affects lots of U by Kotex Sleek Tampons, Regular Absorbency that were manufactured prior to October 16, 2018.
You can check to see if the box of tampons you have is part of the recall by using the "Lot # Checker" at the ubykotex.com.
