LAFAYETTE — Some scary moments early Friday evening at the Tippecanoe Mall in Lafayette.
According to Lafayette Police, four or five shots were fired around 6:45 p.m. in the parking lot of the mall.
One of two suspects in the case has been arrested. He was inside the mall when taken into custody, and he has been preliminarily charged with criminal recklessness and intimidation.
A police public information officer says an argument between at least two people in the mall's west parking lot led to the shooting.
Nobody was injured as a direct result of the shooting. but a woman who was shopping at the mall tripped and dislocated a knee as she ran from the shooting scene.
The incident took place in the parking lot between Kohl's and Marcy's.
Tippecanoe Mall is located on Sagamore Parkway on Lafayette's southeast side.
