Fortville Elementary School moving to virtual learning through November

Teacher creates national database of Covid-19-related school closures

FORTVILLE — More schools are being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tuesday is the last day in class for students at Fortville Elementary School for the next few weeks. Students will move to full-time virtual learning Wednesday.

A news release from Mount Vernon Community Schools said it is because a significant number of school staff must be absent for an extended period of time.

The school district plans to allow Fortville Elementary students to return to the classroom Nov. 30.
