KOKOMO — Students at Taylor Elementary School in Kokomo will not be attending in person classes for the next two weeks.

Taylor Community Schools Superintendent Christopher Smith notified families on Tuesday that a positive COVID-19 test was reported within the school's food services department.

"The process of canceling schools is never an easy reason," said Smith. "Safety of students, families, and staff is always the best decision."

Students will be learning from home until the school reopens, which is expected to be November 16.

The decision to close does not extended to the nearby Taylor Middle School of Taylor High School, all of which are located in southeastern Howard County.
