UPLAND — Taylor University hopes to get back on track in August.

The school of nearly 2,000 in Upland, like colleges everywhere, shut down in March due to the pandemic. Now plans are being made for the "new normal."

That includes commencement for the class of 2020 on August 15, delayed from May 23.

Fall semester is scheduled to begin on August 31. "“We have made it to the end of spring semester. Seniors are jumping into finals week and I am so thankful for the way you have hung in there, and pivoted to finish your courses in a different way,” said Taylor Interim President Dr. Paige Comstock Cunningham. “Secondly, to our faculty – your creativity, your endurance, and your commitment to every single student is such an inspiration to me,” she added.

Cunningham said additional details are forthcoming and would be announced as soon as they are available.
