DELAWARE COUNTY — A Delaware County resident has died from COVID-19 after testing positive for the illness, county health officials said.
According to information from the Delaware County Heatlh Department, an elderly female patient tested positive for the coronavirus Friday night and she later died at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
Delaware County coroner Richard Howell did not release any other information about the woman.
The woman's death was the fourth death in the state, according to a press release from the Indiana State Department of Health.
On Saturday, the Indiana State Department of Health reported 47 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday, bringing the total to 126 Hoosiers who have been diagnosed with the disease caused by the coronavirus.
