GREENWOOD — For anyone with a loved one in the hospital intensive care unit right now fighting COVID-19, an RTV6 viewer hopes her husband's story could bring you a little bit of hope during these trying times.

Jennifer Hussung, of Greenwood, posted an update about her husband, Bryan, on Facebook. Bryan is finally back home this week after spending two weeks in the ICU fighting for his life.

"The past two weeks have taught me a lot about faith, trust, and love. My little corner of Greenwood is complete again," Jennifer wrote on Facebook.

What they thought was the flu took a sudden, drastic turn. Within 24 hours of checking into the hospital for breathing issues, Bryan was on a ventilator and then intubated for 10 days.

Jennifer said during those two weeks, she and her kids were separated from Bryan, so they leaned on God and their friends and family for support. The words "trending in the right direction" from hospital staff continued to give them hope for a miracle.

"He truly is a living miracle," she wrote. "The doctors and nurses have repeatedly told me what an inspiration Bryan’s success story is to them during this wrenching pandemic. I cannot even begin to thank all the medical team that cared for him during his fight against the coronavirus."

Today, Bryan is back home, and Jennifer knows many other families aren't as lucky. She hopes to share Bryan's story as testimony of answered prayers, and also to warn people that this is real and it is serious.

Jennifer said Bryan still has a long road to recovery, but they are thankful he is back home with his family where he belongs.
