Southern Indiana police officer dies from COVID-19 complications

CHARLESTOWN — A police officer in southern Indiana has died from complications from COVID-19.

According to a social media post from the Charlestown Police Department, Detective Sgt. TeJuan Johnson died from complications from COVID-19.

Sgt. Johnson was a 13-year veteran of the Charlestown Police Department, located in Clark County, along the Ohio River.

According to the post, Sgt. Johnson served as a field training officer, police bike patrol, narcotics detective and shift commander.

"Please keep his family and his brothers and sisters at the Charlestown Police Department in your thoughts and prayers," the department posted on Facebook.
