INDIANAPOLIS -- One of the last four remaining defendants in the ‘Grundy Crew’ case agreed to a plea deal with Marion County prosecutors Tuesday.
David Carroll, 34, appeared in Criminal Court 6 Tuesday afternoon to enter a plea of guilty to one count of possession of marijuana, a class “A” misdemeanor.
In exchange, prosecutors will drop the remaining counts of criminal gang activity, corrupt business influence and dealing in marijuana in the case and will ask for a sentence of time served.

Marion County Jail records show Carroll served nearly a year behind bars following his arrest in November 2015 as part of a drug-dealing case targeting him and 10 other alleged members of the Grundy Crew criminal organization.

Carroll becomes the eighth of those 11 defendants to reach a plea deal with prosecutors in the case. That includes alleged ringleader Richard Grundy III himself, who pleaded guilty last week to one count of dealing marijuana in exchange for a sentence of time served plus two years of non-reporting probation.

Three remaining alleged members of the gang – Anthony Tinnin, Victor Wells and Eric Butler – still face charges in the case.
Wells’ attorney, Jack Crawford, told a judge last week that discussions about a possible plea deal remained ongoing.
