BATESVILLE, Ind. -- A Batesville, Indiana, man was arrested Thursday on allegations he viewed and shared child pornography.
Indiana State Police detectives received an anonymous tip in 2016 that an IP address located in the 200 block of Country Club Drive in Batesville was used to view images of child pornography.
Detectives received a search warrant, which they executed on the residence Thursday morning. During the search, they reportedly discovered images of child pornography on multiple devices and accounts belonging to residents of the home.
As a result of the investigation, 24-year-old David W. Smith, of Batesville, was arrested on charges of possession of child pornography and child exploitation.
He was booked into the Ripley County Jail, where he was being held pending a bond hearing.
